Objectives

b) To acknowledge the right of people with a disability to participate in decision making processes that affect their lives

c) To enhance the quality of life of people with a disability through enabling them to realise and achieve their maximum potential and to facilitate development of the skills and abilities of people with a disability to follow their own lifestyle choices.

d) To develop a variety of quality inclusive service responses based upon the needs and dreams as expressed by the person with a disability and their family or advocate.

e) To develop service responses in accordance with the Principals, Objectives and Regulations of the Queensland Disability Services Act (2006).

f) To provide a positive and rewarding experience for people with a disability and their families / advocate who use the Associations services.

g) To encourage and assist people with a disability and their families/advocate to plan personal futures, and set goals to achieve those futures.

h) To provide individually negotiated support services and to match the person with a disability and their family with quality support personnel who can facilitate them to develop and maintain skills, and enhance their ability to live quality lifestyles in their communities.

i) To support people with a disability to be included in the life of the community as valued members and to promote within the community a positive image of people with a disability, their families, the association and its services responses.

j) To promote the growth and development of community attitudes that encourages and supports the valuing of a person with a disability and their families.

k) To become a recognised leader in the field of service provision for people with a disability and their families.
