Aims & Directions of the Network

Better Together aims to provide within available resources a community development initiative     that will:

Promote the growth and development of community attitudes that encourages and supports the value of people with a disability;

Remove physical and social barriers to inclusion within the Caboolture area

Ensure all social and civic activities are accessible to adults with a disability

Increase the number and quality of volunteer and employment opportunities open to adults with a disability;

Develop a network of committed people within the Caboolture area who share a vision about inclusive communities and will support the inclusion of adults with a disability in all activities.

We aim to provide, within available resources, flexible supports that will:

· Establish a quality person-centred support arrangement based on the persons individual participation goals as outline in an Individual Support Agreement

· Employ Community Connectors that meet the requirements of the individual and are skilled to assist in achieving the person goal for inclusion in community activities

· To involve individuals who are supported by the network in all areas of its development

· Review the individual's goals and support arrangements regularly and change according to the changing needs and aspirations of the individuals

· To provide relevant legislative, government and financial information to people who use the service so that they can make timely and appropriate decisions about the types of support they require
